Five Reasons to Have a Professional Logo Design

If your employees are the heart and soul of your business, then the logo is its face. The logo is what clients remember and potential customers look at first. A great logo will mirror a company’s creativeness and enthusiasm. A poor one will discourage prospects from becoming long term customers.
Here are five important reasons to have a professional logo design.
1. Logos Influence First Impressions.
Imagine you meet someone new, they greet you with a warm smile, and you can see by their expression they are genuinely happy to meet you. Now you meet someone else, except this person’s face is covered. You do not know the expression, their attractiveness, or how happy they are to see you.
Who do you feel more comfortable with? Who would you rather do business with? A great logo can control the impression your customers get before they step into your store or speak with a sales associate. A customized logo is at the forefront of your brand, and it all starts with that first impression.
2. Logos Solidify and Promote Your Brand.
Your company’s brand is not simply a logo. However, your company logo is the foundation of your brand. A logo can compact the message and feeling you want to get across to your customers in a much more memorable package. It can also help to explain your company’s name or line of business.
When customers see a professional logo they are more likely to identify your company as reputable, and your company’s image will be enhanced.
3. Logos Break Through the Clutter.
It has never been more difficult to attract customers’ attention. A well-designed logo can attract a customer’s attention and lead to customers choosing you over a competitor. The advantage you will have over competitor who does not have a logo can be enormous.
Many purchasing decisions are subconscious; it’s the colors, structure and style of a logo that can all influence a customer’s decision. Most graphic designers have training in determining what factors best suit your business goals, and working that into a professional brand.
4. Logos Can Help You Get Remembered.
Many studies have been done which show that people tend to forget names and numbers over a period of time. A 1975 study by psychologist Harry Bahrick showed that most high school graduates could not recall very many classmates 25 years after they had graduated high school. But after being shown faces and names, participants were able to recognize 90% of their classmates.
Customers may have trouble remembering the name of your business which is why a logo is paramount. A logo provides the face which can trigger a customer’s recall. This increases the chances of a customer remembering your business’s name, their previous experiences, and other important information they associate with your company.
5. Logos Offer Return on Investment.
NIKE paid $35 for their famous “Swoosh” logo, which is now estimated to be worth over $13 billion. Logos provide you with the power to create something that customers will remember, and lead them to choose you over your competitors.
A professional logo may take an initial investment, but it help shape your business’s identity and improve the effectiveness of your marketing for years to come. If for no other reason, get a logo for your business because you will not make another decision that leads to a higher return on your investment.

I’ve been running my blog for a year without a logo. It was my intention to hire a graphic designer to produce on for me, but I’ve never got round to doing it. The points you highlighted in this article have made me certain that I need to get it done very soon.
The reason that I’ve always wanted to get a logo done is because it just feels like I’m working towards building a brilliant product, and I’m upset that I haven’t gotten it done, and that I know exactly what I want done and that it would be cheap makes me even more so.
