Talking About Women’s Natural Marketing Strengths

On Friday I gave a workshop on “Women’s Natural Marketing Strengths” at the Harrisburg Area Community College’s Talkabout series for women in business. The video above is a few excerpts from that event.

You can’t tell from the footage, but there were about 40 people there (including three brave men!) and we had a great time talking about how women can market their business effectively without adopting a masculine style.

Four of those marketing strengths that come naturally to most women are:

•    Empathy
•    Communication
•    Multitasking
•    Intuition

The book I’m reading from is Pitch Like a Girl by Ronna Lichtenberg, one of my all-time favorite resources for women in business.

What are your marketing strengths?

Mine are: collaboration, talking like a real person rather than pitching, connection (seeing the connection between problems and solutions).

You are so right on about how women market differently and how we are more comfortable with using our intuition and trusting in a more authentic approach.

    Great work! Thanks for posting.

  • Kelly Watson says:

Collaboration is a good one! I didn't mention that specifically, but I know it helps a lot of women cope with the day-to-day stressors of running a business.

Twyla Tharp recently wrote a book on the subject … I keep meaning to check it out.

  • Kathy Snavely says:

Hey, Kelly – sorry I missed it. Terrific job on the video – love the editing and music add!! Looking forward to hosting you in Lancaster on April 9!
