Inspired Marketing Friday, Bouncy Ball Edition
Know what’s underrated? Bouncy balls.
You know, those rainbow-colored blobs of rubber that you could buy from a gumball machine at the grocery store, but only if you asked really really nicely and your mom happened to have a quarter in her purse.
When I was a little girl, I loved to throw them as hard as I could against the driveway, so they’d soar up over my head and then zoom back down, stutter-stepping their way into the grass.
Really good marketing makes my heart feel like one of those bouncy balls.
Bouncy Ball of Inspiration #1: Scout Creative
Take Scout Creative, a content marketing company from Portland, Oregon that specializes in paper crafts. As a copywriter, I know a thing or two about content marketing. But I’ve never seen it take such a creative, quirky form.

Scout Creative also offers a free monthly calendar that you can download and craft up yourself. I think this printing and cutting and crafting of calendars will become a monthly ritual for me. I made June’s last weekend, and even my husband thought it was cool:

Can you imagine designing one of these, with your business name displayed in pretty script across the side? You should. You should design one and send it to me so I can make it, too. Let’s start a new small biz papercraft marketing revolution.
Bouncy Ball of Inspiration #2: Sarah Bray & Tour de Bliss
If that doesn’t make your heart leapy-bouncy in your chest, check out this video from Sarah J. Bray. I discovered Sarah on Tara Gentile’s blog earlier this week, and immediately fell in love. How can you not love a woman who creates marketing videos like this one?
What’s been making your heart soar this week?

Hi Kelly!
Interesting paper crafts, they are as quirky as Sarah in the video! Instead of the traditional plain paper calendar, why not make it in a boat. These things can be quite used for promotional tools where you can put your brand on it. Creative and it can be something fun to do at your spare time!
