New Grant Opportunity for Women Entrepreneurs

I recently found a grant opportunity that was too good NOT to share. The winners – four in 2012 and four in 2013 – will receive an initial $12,000 in the first year. They’ll receive an additional $2,000 or their projects if they are able to raise $2,000 through their own efforts.

According to proposal guidelines, “We will fund U.S.-based individuals who have original ideas to create new Web sites, mobile news services or other entrepreneurial initiatives that offer interactive opportunities to engage, inspire and improve news and information in a geographic community or a community of interest.”

Funding is available for start-ups only. The application deadline is January 27, 2012, and there’s an application fee of $25. Get more details at the McCormick Foundation’s New Media Women Entrepreneurs site – and good luck!
