Clever Little Bags, Vaginas & A Website Made of Chocolate

No, this post isn’t about Sex and the City 3. It’s another edition of Inspired Marketing Friday!
I have three goodies to share this week, starting with a video that’s been blowing up my Facebook page. At first I was bored by the thought of yet another eco-marketing ploy. But then I watched the video:
Smart science, and even smarter marketing. This project, a collaboration between Puma and fuse project, is a good reminder that you don’t have to limit your marketing to just products and services. Sometimes the wrappers around those products and services can provide just as good or better opportunities for innovation.
Next is a marketing campaign for Mooncups called “Love Your Vagina.” The campaign invited users to submit their own names for their nether parts, then used these submissions in a song. You can watch the video below, purchase the song through iTunes or even download sheet music.
If you want to spark interesting conversations with coworkers, I strongly recommend you print out the “Love Your Vagina” sheet music (opens as a PDF) and leave it sitting on your desk for a week, like I did.
Last is a video explaining how a Portuguese beer company created an entire website out of chocolate. Literally. While chocolate is arguably not the most flexible of mediums, I thought the end result came out nicely, and the resulting campaign that invited users to request a bite of the website was a great way to extend interest.
Inspired yet? Ideas like these could provide fresh marketing insight when you least expect it. Plus, they’re just plain fun.
What marketing or advertising has inspired YOU this past week? Let me know in the comments section below.

Hi Kelly,
Really inspiring. Its amazing how people can come up with such imaginative and innovative ideas. I specially liked the way this Portuguese company chalked out a website out of chocolate.
Certainly some fantastic ideas! Nothing like something a little different to create a buzz! PS I think that Vagina song might be stuck in my head for a while…
Those are funny videos but surely it makes sense. I like the idea of puma which helps promote that we should care for the environment and the vagina song it is really funny.
