Marketing Podcast, Episode 17 – Diva Marketing
This month’s podcast features an interview with Gina McNew, founder of the Diva Success Network.
Gina was working as an interior decorator when she realized that she was not only counseling women on their choice of furnishings, she was also encouraging them to live their dreams.
As an experienced radio host, she soon decided to start her own online radio show where she could foster her grown-up girlfriend relationships and inspire people around the world.
In the 30-minute podcast, Gina and I talk about the negative connotations of the word ‘diva’ and the meaning behind the Diva Success Network’s unofficial motto, “Put on your big girl shoes and heel thyself, diva.” We also discuss how women are rebuilding the economy during the current recession.

Today’s podcast features author, coach and trainer Jane Woods of Changing People, who speaks about the changing economy, changing careers, and changing trends in marketing.
Since this podcast deals with changes, I thought it would be an appropriate time to announce a change to the One Woman Marketing podcast. Starting now, the podcast will be released once a month, on the 15th.
With all the other projects I have in the works, I’ve found myself scrambling to complete a new podcast every two weeks and this change will allow me to create better content for listeners.
If you want to discover more about Jane Woods and her work, check her out on Twitter or subscribe to her free e-newsletter to receive her free PDF report, “10 Tips For Difficult Conversations.”

Marketing Podcast, Episode 14: Elements Of Power

Tired of trying to do everything at once? Wondering how other women in business seem to keep it all together? Today’s featured guest felt the same way—so she and her friend Michele Lisenbury Christensen set out to find some answers. What they discovered became the 12 Elements of Power.
Sara Harvey Yao forms one-half of Working With Power, an international consulting and training firm that helps people and organizations leverage the 12 Elements of Power. On the podcast, we discuss what those Elements are, and how they can help you create a marketing plan that truly works.
“It’s about using the right tool for the job,” Sara says. “Marketing takes a lot of self-reliance to go out and say, this is what I offer. These are the results I can get for you. … But I think anybody—man or woman—can overuse self-reliance. They forget how to connect with other people … Any of these 12 Elements can be traced to things that are working and not working in people’s businesses, in their lives, and in their relationships.”
